Report and Presentation to Class Oct 29, Nov 5, & Nov 19 (Assuming the Field Trip is Nov 12, which could change)

The statement concerning this in the syllabus is very brief: "The final project is a literature search presentation of a topic of Environmental interest selected by the student and approved by the instructor (use minimum of 3 journals)." What is expected is a written report of at least 5 pages (double spaced). You should also prepare a 5-10 minute presentation. Power Point would probably be best, but if you wish to use transparencies for an overhead projector or a document camera please notify me in advance so that I can request what's needed from media services. On Oct 29 no classroom is available, we will meet in the normal lab room CS 219. For Nov 5, 12, & 19, room CS 101 has been reserved from 1:00 to 3:50 PM. The references need to be a minimum of 3 with at least 2 journals. I hope that most of the presentations can be made by Nov 19 so that other days such as the lab final exam day will not be needed. Your report grade which is 20% of the lab grade will be equally weighted on the written paper (10%) and the presentation (10%).

One printout of your presentation is now being requested by the instructor. In PowerPoint select Print, then choose Handouts for Print what, 2 Slides per page, and Grayscale or Color. I prefer to unclick the Frame slides box, but that is not so important. I will make copies and distribute these to any lab people who cannot attend due to illness or excused reasons.

Please email joe.loter@tamucc.edu with your proposed report topic for my approval. Use Env Chem Report as the subject for easy sorting.
