CHEM 341x.1xx: Organic Chemistry I/II Laboratory, Multiple Sections, Multiple Times
Fall 2008
If you're reading this, then - unless you're just poking around chemistry pages - you're probably in one of my labs. Glad to have you. :]
Here you will find links to things that will serve you well through the course of this term. Between this page and my emailing, you'll always be kept up to speed on things.
It's my intention to make this lab as painless as it can be. After all, I know the reputation that organic chemistry has. You do, too. But you are in very capable hands (hat-tip to Dr. Southard, Dr. Silliman, & Co. for being amazing faculty), and I'll do my best to get you through ochem's lab as relatively unscathed as possible.
You might even enjoy it. Really!
Lab Resources
General stuff...
- my midterm evaluation. An active link will be placed here later in the semester, and the deadline for completion will be given in lab and/or email. (It's an extra credit thing, don't worry.)
CHEM 3411.1xx: Organic Chemistry I Laboratory
- a version of the technical writing presentation (.ppt, 224 KB)
- the Organic I Powerpoint presentations you saw/will see in lab. They may differ from the ones actually used during lab sessions, but the content is essentially the same.
CHEM 3412.1xx: Organic Chemistry II Laboratory
- the Organic II Powerpoint presentations you saw/will see in lab. They may differ from the ones actually used during lab sessions, but the content is essentially the same.
A little self-indulgent babbling
Alright, so you're here, and you're like, "Dadurian? Who the hell is that? I hope he's not a crappy TA."
I graduated summa cum laude with my bachelor's degree from TAMU-CC in May 2008. I'm currently seeking a medical degree and am an active applicant to six of our fine MD programs here in Texas.
Scary. Wish me luck.
If you're a premedical student who's not yet at the application point (i.e., doing the TMDSAS dance, finishing secondaries, writing your personal statement, all that jazz) and you'd like the $.02 of someone who's there, hey, feel free. I know it's kind of, um, unnerving at first.
I'm a pianist, I drive a little too fast, and I'm not nearly as much of a skydiver as I would like to be. Time, money, and distance concerns, you understand. I'm quickly annoyed by politics, but I'm fervently pro-gun and pro-carry in both concealed and open flavors. (We're the good guys, remember?)
I have a serious hatred for those dark(ish) blue Post-It notes. I'm ridiculously picky about the pens I use, and I'm convinced that the only real purpose for rye bread's existence is to make a Reuben. Speaking of Reubens, the only thing I watch sitcom/series-wise is House.
Oh, and I'm addicted to tea. If you see me in the UC or at Java City, you should buy me some.
Slàinte!
