Small Scale Chemistry Workshop
This is a program to teach Small Scale Chemistry to local instructors. The SSC program will reduce the amount of materials required and the amount of chemical waste generated. This will directly equate to lower purchasing costs and disposal fees. Small Scale Chemistry (SSC) teaches how to conduct lab exercises with very small amounts of relatively benign chemicals and producing very little waste. The workshops are designed for High School science teachers. We will follow up the workshops with visits to High Schools to remove any unwanted chemicals. We welcome anyone who can impact the overall goal of reducing the amount of hazardous chemicals purchased, stored, used, or disposed of in schools.
The priority of attendees should be:
- High School Teachers first
- CC-ISD Administrators (this is on the assumption there will only be 1 - 3)
- Middle School and Elementary School Teachers
- TAMU-CC professors ( important for future workshops)
- TAMU-CC students
