I am webmaster for the College of Science and Technology. In the past, I was a TA for Biology I. For one semester, I taught 3 biology labs. I was also a work-study for General Chemistry for one semester.
In research, I have been a Welch research fellow for a year, working on UV polymerization of amino acid-based chiral surfactants and molecular modelling to study physical trends in micellar properties. I presented a poster on one of the computational studies at the national ACS meeting in March 2006. I also spent a summer in Pennsylvania doing research on magnetic nanoparticles.
I am a chemistry major. My long-term goal is a career in cancer research. I am a member of the Chemistry Club and provide graphics support for several websites, including the chemistry department website.
In my former life, I was a graphic designer for several years. The chemistry department's website and the Science and Technology website are two of my recent projects.
