Research Interests
Dr. Benson's primary research interest is in the field of bioacoustics. Other research interests include the dynamics of ocean and estuary circulation and the development of novel methods of data collection and measurement in several areas of science. The Center for Bioacoustics maintains a growing and accessible systematic collection of digital audio recordings of natural and man-made sounds. The collection is available to researchers throughout the world.
His research was featured in a documentary on the Discovery Channel in 2002.
