Education
- Ph.D in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station
- Diploma in Physics Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne
Research Interests
My main research interest is the application and development of machine learning based techniques and in particular Artificial Neural Networks to the modeling of environmental systems. Present projects include the forecasting of water levels, storm surges and water temperatures along the coasts of the Gulf of Mexico, the forecasting of bacteria indicator in recreational waters and the forecasting of groundwater levels and spring flows in the Edwards Aquifer. I also work on studying the impact and transport of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM). Recent projects have included the study of NORM surface transport from the former South Texas Uranium mines, the study of Radon exhalation from the South Texas Uranium mines and the study of Radon concentrations in South Texas Ground water reservoirs.
